I’ve never been much of a summer person. After all, I am born and raised in Los Angeles where the summers are oppressively hot and the only relief is the scorching desert dryness. But now that I’m out of Southern California, it’s as if I have an entirely new perspective on summer. Sure, there might be more rain and some slight chill to the air but being able to lounge around without sweating to death has been absolutely refreshing and one of my favorite aspects about this area so far. In addition to a change in climate, there are also plenty of changes in scenery too. But there is one thing that brings me back home – Trader Joe’s Ice Cream Sandwiches! Whenever I’m craving ice cream or just want something sweet, these are what I go for. They’re such a treat with their rich chocolatey shell and creamy vanilla ice cream filling. And while they can’t quite replace memories of LA heat waves, they do make me feel like summer’s not so bad after all.

You can find these easy to make treats at your local grocery store in the freezer section for about $2-$3 per pack. They come in three different flavors– chocolate, vanilla, and mint– and contain cookie dough on one side and chocolate chip cookie on the other side. These inexpensive treats are a perfect summertime snack because they satisfy that sweet tooth craving without you breaking the bank! If you’re looking for something cold, crunchy, and refreshing then this is definitely the treat for you. The best part? It tastes just as good if not better than some of those more expensive ice cream sandwich brands (think Ben & Jerry’s or Häagen-Dazs). Overall, this is an excellent product from Trader Joe’s which satisfies all of my cravings with minimal effort.
The flavors, in order of my preference
The best flavors for Trader Joe’s ice cream sandwich are vanilla, raspberry, cookies and cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, pumpkin spice with cinnamon chips, and lemon blueberry. My favorite is cookies and cream. This flavor is delicious because the sweet vanilla flavor of the vanilla ice cream contrasts well with the salty taste of the chocolate cookies. Another reason that this flavor is so great is that it includes a generous amount of chocolate chips in every bite which make it taste even better. Vanilla ice cream also offers a great base to help enhance any additional flavors you might add to your sandwich such as my personal favorite: raspberry! Trader Joe’s Raspberry Sorbet gives the Trader Joe’s ice cream sandwich an irresistible tartness that really makes it pop. Trader Joe’s raspberry sorbet balances out the sweet and sugary taste of both vanilla and chocolate very nicely, especially when combined with Trader Joe’s signature cinnamon graham crackers. Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Graham Crackers have just enough cinnamon on them to give them a little kick without being overpowering or overbearing. I recommend mixing trader joe’s raspberry sorbet into both the peanut butter cookie sandwiches as well as the milk chocolate ones. You will not regret trying these combinations!

While Trader Joe’s is well-known for many different foods, Trader Joe’s ice cream sandwich can’t be beat! Available in four flavors—chocolate chip cookie dough, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry—the ice cream sandwich is a favorite of kids and adults alike. Each one starts with two frozen chocolate chip cookies with layers of your chosen flavor in between. I found that the vanilla to be my favorite due to its mellow flavor while the chocolate was my least favorite due to its intense taste. Another thing I love about these ice cream sandwiches is that they are individually wrapped in packs of three, so you can either save them for later or just indulge immediately.
